What is a good time for your age?

So a 3:12 marathon at 50 and a 2:50 at 30 can be the same quality of run. These tables show the finish time that scores 50, 60, 70, 80 and 90% age-graded at every single age, for every road distance the Alan Jones 2025 tables cover. Pick a distance, then your sex.

How to read the tables

Each cell is the chip time a runner of that exact age needs to score that percentage. 100% is the world best for the distance, adjusted for age. The shorthand most people use is 60% local class, 70% regional, 80% national and 90% world class. In a big-city marathon field roughly one finisher in eighty reaches 80%.

The tables are single-year, so your target moves a little every birthday. The methodology page has the formula and the sources.
