parkrun Age-Grade Calculator (2025 tables)
parkrun shows an age grade on every result, but it is calculated with factor tables that predate the current USATF-approved set. This calculator grades the same 5 km finish on Alan Jones 2025, at your exact age, so you can see what the number looks like today.

Questions
Why is my parkrun age grade different here?#
parkrun uses an older set of age factors and rounds age to the year. Alan Jones 2025 updated the open standards and the age curves, especially over 60. The gap is usually one to three points, and it can go either way depending on your age and sex.
What is a good parkrun age grade?#
Under the usual shorthand 60% is local class, 70% regional, 80% national and 90% world class. Most parkrun fields have a handful of runners above 70% and very few above 80%. Anything over 60% means you are well ahead of the typical Saturday field.
Can I log parkruns as races on RaceRecords?#
You can log any timed 5 km. Whether a parkrun counts as a race is your call, and the same rule applies as everywhere else on the site: records only count in races. Many runners keep parkrun as their 5K benchmark for exactly that reason.
Which tables does this calculator use?#
Road results are graded with the Alan Jones 2025 tables, approved by the USATF Masters Long Distance Running Council in January 2025. Track uses WMA 2023. Both are single-year age tables, so the result reflects your exact age on race day rather than a five-year bracket.
What counts as a good age-graded percentage?#
The usual shorthand is 60% local class, 70% regional class, 80% national class and 90% world class. In a big-city marathon field roughly one finisher in eighty reaches 80%. Anything above 70% puts you in the sharp end of most races.
